2012 May 16 - Wednesday
Today, being Wednesday, was pancake day with our great granddaughters. Funny, I made pancakes for their breakfast one Wednesday and it became a ritual. So, every Wednesday (nearly) morning we arrive at the grandson's around six thirty and I whip up a bunch of 'silver dollar' pancakes before the girls get up. The pancakes were originally used as a 'lure' to get them up and it still works.
Charlotte's friend, Madeline now comes over in the mornings and I take her and Charlotte to school together. So, this morning she had pancakes also.
After Bible Study I go back to the grandson's and watch Lorelia until someone (Nate, Beth or Beth's mom) comes to watch them.
Today Ella is working at the Clubhouse from five to eight and I have a Worship Committee meeting to attend.
For being retired, we sure keep busy.

2012 May 15
Today, Tuesday, is a day off for both Ella and I. We normally don't babysit Tuesdays. This was a scheduled work day for me, however I had an MRI at the VA Hospital this morning so asked Jack to take my place. I had substituted for him a week ago last Sunday so this just gets our hours back inline for payroll.
My leg is really aching now. It didn't like being straightened with the knee unsupported for the half hour in the chucked-chucked machine.
At least I didn't have to have my head and shoulders inside the blasted contraption like I did before my back surgery. I'm a BIG guy ... over six feet and nearly three hundred pounds ... and I had to squeeze into that tiny tube with one arm over my head, otherwise my shoulders wouldn't have fit. Owww.
Here are Ella and I waiting for me to go into the MRI. Notice the 'lovely decor" behind us. The hospital is doing reconstruction and whole sections of it are draped it plastic or covered with plywood. Hmmm? I wonder how MRI machines like dust?

Saturday Ella and I both worked from 8 to 2 and then we went to the Saturday praise service at church followed by a pot luck.
Sunday neither one of us had to work. We went to church for the Mother's day service. After church we went to KFC for lunch. Then it was time to go home and take a nap. Linnea and Rob came out bearing flowers and vegetables for Ella for Mother's day. This was the first time they have been out since we bought the Excel.
Later I called my sister Maryann and talk to her for about an hour. By then it was time to watch a little Droid tv and go to bed.
Today, Monday, we were up at 5:45 so that Ella could get to Ankany to watch our great granddaughters before they went to school. After she got there, she called using the Tango app so that we could use the video phone and I could chat with the girls before they went to school. I love the technology that lets me do this just like Dick Tracy. However, I'm still waiting for my flying car.
